Concrete Pools FAQ's

What is shotcrete?

Shotcrete is a method of applying concrete projected at high-velocity, primarily onto a vertical or overhead surface. The impact created by the application consolidates the concrete. Although the hardened properties of shotcrete are similar to those of conventional cast-in-place concrete, the nature of the placement process results in an excellent bond with most substrates, and rapid or instant capabilities, particularly on complex forms or shapes.

Why does a concrete pool take longer than a fiberglass pool to install?

A fiberglass shell goes right into the yard as soon as it is dug, with the plumbing and stone base installed. With a concrete pool, the gunite or shotcrete needs to cure and the final finish needs to be brushed and cared for up to 30 days after installation.
